The Body Is Always Rebuilding: What Are You Made Of?

A few years ago, through learning all the ways to support our body's healing, I learned the fascinating fact about the body re-building itself fully every few years.
Over time, most of the cells in the human body are replaced. Skin regenerates, the lining of our gut renews, and many tissues rebuild themselves again and again. In roughly seven years, much of the body we live in today has been rebuilt from the raw materials we give it.
Which raises an important question:
What are we building ourselves with?
Every meal becomes information for the body.
Every ingredient becomes raw material.
Are we constructing a body filled with vitality, resilience, and clarity?
Or are we slowly building a body that feels inflamed, depleted, and disconnected from its natural rhythms?
This is where cooking becomes more than a daily task.

When we slow down and prepare our own food, we also awaken our intuitive senses and ability to allow our biological awareness to inform us what we need and when!.
When we begin to connect with our ingredients, our 5 (6 if we count intuition) senses activate, our body starts to record this information and gets familiar with its nutrients from the outside in and from the inside and out!
From there, we start to notice how certain foods make us feel. We observe what energizes us, what supports our digestion, what nourishes our mood and focus.
Cooking becomes a conversation between the body and the ingredients.
And just like our ancestors discovered through observation and tradition, we begin to learn the powerful fact that: Food is not only something we consume, it is something we become.
And where my passion lies is in unlocking this natural ability to provide harmony and balance within ourselves.
I firmly believe that through this practice, we also can awaken a deeper level of self-awareness. The type of self-awareness that allows us to understand ourselves, our bodies, our needs, what physical harmony feels like and how to connect with nature to know how to heal ourselves.
I truly can't think of a better or more important wisdom tool to posses and to pass down to our children/next generations.
Start BuildingYourself Differently
Every meal is a chance to give your body better raw materials. Every time you slow down in the kitchen, you deepen your relationship with yourself. The transformation is quiet, cumulative, profoundly real and super empowering as well as healing.

Slow down in the kitchen, decorate it!, romanticize your space!...
Treat cooking as a ritual, not a chore. O perhaps are art or meditation. Free flow!
Notice how foods make you feel
Energy, digestion, mood, all are data points. Food journals are super helpful and powerful!
Trust your body's signals
Your biology is always communicating. Begin to listen. Discern between habits, addictive substances like sugars, additives, and real (hunger) need for nutrients.
Build with intention
You are constructing the body you'll live in for the next seven years, starting now. Build one that will thank you later :).

Love,
Monica
